In reply to <a href="https://www.waivingentropy.com/2012/03/24/a-climate-of-change/#comment-95028">Dawn</a>.

Thanks for the comment, Dawn. I don't know if climate deniers have an angle so much as a stubborn unwillingness to examine the evidence with an open mind. I've yet to meet a denier who actually understands climate physics—the forcings, feedbacks, and basic statistical hypothesis testing. It's not exactly simple; it takes a great amount of time and education to learn this science, which is all the more reason why those lacking this training shouldn't be so hasty in dismissing it.

Some deniers realize there are no scientific arguments that can be applied to climate change denial, after which they are presented with a choice. They can either accept the prevailing scientific view, or they can continue to oppose it for purely ideological reasons. Sadly, the second option appears to be a popular one.

Well done. This is a great post. I have read a few of your posts and seen some of the comments your material gets on google+. I really don't understand deniers, what is their angle? It doesn't bother me too much, is it just arguing for arguing sake? One thing for sure as soon as you ask for hard facts, their side of the argument goes quiet.
